Okay, so today I was messing around with FIFA 23, and I got this idea to really dive into Hugo Sanchez’s stats. You know, the legendary Mexican striker? I’ve always been a fan, and I figured, why not see how he stacks up in the game?
Getting Started
First things first, I booted up the game and went straight to the Ultimate Team mode. That’s where all the fun is, right? I started searching for Hugo Sanchez in the transfer market. Took a bit of digging, but eventually, I found a couple of his Icon cards. These cards are pretty sweet because they represent him at different points in his career.

Checking Out the Stats
I grabbed his Prime Icon card, which is supposed to be him at his absolute best. Man, the stats on this card were insane! His shooting was off the charts, like 94 overall. I spent some time just going through all his individual stats.
- Pace: Not the fastest, but definitely quick enough to get past defenders. Around 85, I think.
- Shooting: Like I said, 94! His finishing and shot power were especially crazy high.
- Passing: Decent, but nothing to write home about. He’s a striker, after all.
- Dribbling: Pretty good, around 88. He could definitely keep the ball close and make some slick moves.
- Defending: Didn’t really matter much, he’s not a defender.
- Physicality: He was strong, but not a beast or anything. Around 80 or so.
Putting Him to the Test
After geeking out over his stats, I threw him into my squad. I played a bunch of matches with him up top. I tried out different formations, sometimes pairing him with another striker, sometimes letting him play solo. It was a blast experimenting and seeing how he performed in different situations.
Scoring Goals Galore
Let me tell you, this guy could score! His finishing was just ridiculous. Inside the box, outside the box, didn’t matter. He was banging them in from all angles. Headers, volleys, finesse shots, power shots, you name it. I even managed to score a few bicycle kicks with him, which felt amazing, given his reputation for those.
Overall Impressions
Playing with Hugo Sanchez in FIFA 23 was a real treat. He lived up to the hype, at least for me. It was fun to see a legend like him come to life in the game and dominate the pitch. I spent hours just messing around with him, trying different things, and scoring tons of goals. I tried out different skill moves too. I played online and offline matches. Honestly, it was just a whole lot of fun.
If you’re a FIFA fan and you haven’t tried out Hugo Sanchez yet, I highly recommend giving him a go. Especially if you’re into those classic strikers who can just score for fun. It’s a great way to experience a bit of football history, even if it’s just in a video game.
