So, today I got into this thing called FC24, you know, that soccer game everyone’s been talking about. I was kinda curious about these “personality types” they have for the players. Figured I’d mess around with it and see what the deal is.
First off, I fired up the game and started a new career mode. I picked a random team – didn’t really matter which one. Then I started checking out the players and their stats. That’s where I saw it – this personality thing. There were three types: Maverick, Virtuoso, and Heartbeat.

- Maverick, I guess, is for those players who are all about scoring goals and making flashy plays.
- Virtuoso seemed like the skillful, technical players who can change a game with a moment of brilliance.
- Heartbeat, that sounded like the team leaders, the ones who work hard and keep everyone motivated.
I spent a good chunk of time just looking at different players and seeing where they fell. Some were a mix of two, others were heavily skewed towards one type. It was kinda interesting, made the players feel a bit more, I don’t know, real?
Then I started playing some matches. I tried to see if I could spot the different personality types in action. I had this one guy who was a total Maverick, always trying to dribble past everyone and take crazy shots. It was fun, but sometimes he’d lose the ball and we’d get countered.
Another player was more of a Virtuoso. He wasn’t as flashy, but man, his passes were always on point. He could unlock a defense with a single through ball. I started to see how these different types could work together.
And then there was my captain, a real Heartbeat. He was always yelling, encouraging everyone, making tackles, just doing the dirty work. He wasn’t the best player technically, but he held the team together.
Experiment Time!
After a few games, I started messing around. I tried to buy players with specific personality types to see how they’d fit into my team. I even tried to influence my own created player’s personality by making certain decisions in the game – you know, like choosing selfish or team-oriented responses in those press conferences.
It took a while, but I did manage to shift my player’s personality a bit. It wasn’t a huge change, but it was noticeable. I went from being more of a balanced player to leaning more towards that Virtuoso style.
Honestly, the whole personality thing in FC24 is pretty cool. It’s not just some gimmick. It actually adds another layer to the game and makes you think more about team building and player development. It’s not perfect, and sometimes it feels a bit random, but it’s definitely something I’ll be paying more attention to in my future FC24 career.
I am still not sure how it fully works and it is definitely a feature that will take a lot of time to master, but it is indeed fun.
