Alright, so I’ve been playing a ton of Pokemon Go lately, and I’ve gotten really into figuring out the best moves for my Pokemon. Today, I want to share my deep dive into Scizor, one of my favorite steel-type Pokemon.
First off, I caught a bunch of Scythers, which is Scizor’s pre-evolved form. I made sure to get a good amount of candy and a Metal Coat, which you need to evolve Scyther. I spent some time comparing their stats and finally picked the best one to evolve.

Evolving Scyther into Scizor
I tapped on my chosen Scyther in my Pokemon storage and hit that evolve button. Seeing it turn into Scizor was super satisfying. I’ve always loved Scizor’s design – it just looks so cool and powerful.
Figuring Out the Best Moves
Now, here’s where things get a bit tricky. Scizor can learn a few different moves, and I wanted to find the combination that would make it a beast in battles. So I did what any dedicated Pokemon Go player would do – I battled a lot. I tried different moves in Gym battles and against Team Rocket. I also joined some raids to see how my Scizor performed against tougher opponents.
My Experimentation
- I started with Bullet Punch as the fast move and Iron Head as the charged move. It was okay, especially against fairy-types, but I felt like it could be better.
- Then I switched to Fury Cutter and Night Slash. This combo was surprisingly effective, dealing a good amount of damage quickly.
- But I was still curious. I used a few TMs – those items that let you change a Pokemon’s moves – and tested out X-Scissor.
The Final Verdict
After all that experimenting, I found that the best moveset for my Scizor is Fury Cutter as the fast move and Night Slash as the charged move. Fury Cutter charges up Night Slash super fast, and Night Slash hits hard. This combo is great for both PvP battles and raids. Plus, it lets Scizor put up a good fight against a wide range of Pokemon types.
So, there you have it. That’s my journey to finding the best moveset for Scizor in Pokemon Go. Hope this helps some of you trainers out there! Remember, the best way to find what works for you is to experiment and have fun. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some more Pokemon to catch!
