Today I gonna talk about my recent gaming experience. It’s about the game League of Legends, also known as LoL. I spent the last few weeks grinding ranked games like crazy. The season was coming to an end, and I was determined to climb as high as I could before it did.
I started my journey in Gold IV, not the worst, but certainly not where I wanted to be. My goal was to reach Platinum for the first time ever. Seemed like a big jump, but I was feeling confident.

The first few days were rough. Some games I played like a beast, carrying my team to victory. Other games, well, let’s just say I was the one getting carried…hard. And those teammates, oh boy. The amount of toxicity in some of those matches was unreal. I swear, some people just log in to yell at their teammates.
- Game 1: Won as jungle, felt good.
- Game 2: Lost as support, team was flaming each other.
- Game 3: Won as mid, had a great KDA.
- Game 4: Lost as top, got camped by the enemy jungler.
- Game 5: Won as ADC, but barely.
I tried to stay positive though. I focused on my own gameplay, watched some high-level streams to learn new tricks, and muted anyone who was being toxic. It wasn’t easy, but I started to see some improvement.
I climbed to Gold III, then Gold II, and finally, I hit Gold I. The climb was getting harder. Every game was a sweat-fest, with both teams playing their hearts out. I was so close to Platinum, I could almost taste it.
Then came the promotion series. Best of five. Win three, and I’m in Platinum. Lose three, and I’m back to square one. The pressure was immense. I remember playing that first promo game, my hands were literally shaking. I lost that one. Badly.
The Promo Series
I won the second game, then lost the third. It was 1-2, and I was on the brink of failure. But I didn’t give up. I took a deep breath, queued up for the fourth game, and played like my life depended on it. And I won! It was 2-2, and everything came down to the final game.
That last game was the most intense game of LoL I’ve ever played. It was a back-and-forth battle, with neither team giving an inch. We were losing at first, but we managed to make a comeback. Then we were winning, but they almost turned it around. It was a nail-biter until the very end. And then, in a final, epic team fight, we aced them. Their Nexus exploded, and the victory screen popped up.
I couldn’t believe it. I actually did it. I reached Platinum. After weeks of grinding, after all the ups and downs, the toxic teammates, the intense games, I finally achieved my goal.
It was a great feeling. A sense of accomplishment that only a gamer can understand. The season ended a few days later, and I felt good. I learned a lot about the game and I proved to myself that I could achieve my goals, even if they seemed out of reach at first. Can’t wait for the next season to start!
