Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with my phone case again. I’ve got this case, it’s a pretty standard one, nothing fancy. I wanted to see what would happen if I, you know, dropped it a few times. A little experiment to see how well it holds up.
First off, I started with some small drops. You know, just from my pocket height. I let it fall onto a carpeted floor. No big deal, right? The phone was totally fine. Not a scratch. The case did its job, I guess.
Then, I upped the ante a bit. I moved to a harder surface, like my kitchen floor, which is tiled. I dropped the phone from the same height again. I picked it up, checked it out. Still good! The case had a couple of tiny scuffs, but the phone was perfect.
- Drop 1: waist-high, onto the carpet – success!
- Drop 2: waist-high, onto tile – success!
Next, I decided to get a little more… ambitious. I took it outside and dropped it on the concrete sidewalk. This time, I held it up a bit higher, maybe around shoulder height. I cringed a little as I let go, but I did it. And, wouldn’t you know it, the phone was still okay! The case had a few more noticeable marks, but hey, it was protecting the phone.
After that, I thought, “Why not go all out?” I found a small stepladder and climbed up a couple of steps. I must have been about 6 or 7 feet up. I held the phone out, took a deep breath, and dropped it. It hit the concrete with a pretty loud thud. My heart sank a little. I picked it up, braced myself for the worst.
The Result
Believe it or not, the phone was still working! There was a tiny crack on the screen, but it was barely noticeable. The case was pretty beat up, with a big crack on the corner, but it definitely took the brunt of the impact. I was actually pretty impressed. It wasn’t invincible, but it did a decent job. I mean I wouldn’t really recommend dropping your phone from that height regularly, but it was cool to see how the case dealt with it.
- Drop 3: shoulder-high, onto concrete – success!
- Drop 4: from a 6-7 ft ladder, onto concrete – minor crack, but the phone lived!
So, yeah, that’s my little phone case experiment. Just me, being curious. Don’t try this at home kids, unless you are really curious about your phone case, and don’t mind potentially cracking your phone’s screen. But hey, you might be surprised, like I was.
