Alright, let’s talk about the second split of the 2024 ranked season in League of Legends. I finally decided to jump back in and see what all the fuss was about.
Getting Started
First thing I did was check out the start date. It officially kicked off on May 15th, 2024. So, I figured it was time to dust off my keyboard and mouse and dive back into the Summoner’s Rift.

Before playing any ranked games, I warmed up with a few normal matches. You know, just to get back into the groove of things. I tried out a few different champions to see who felt good and who I needed to avoid.
Placement Matches
After feeling somewhat confident, I jumped into my placement matches. These are the first ten games that determine your initial rank. Let me tell you, they were a rollercoaster!
- Game 1: Total disaster. Our team just didn’t click, and we got stomped.
- Game 2-4: These were a bit better. I managed to win two out of three, mainly by playing it safe and focusing on not feeding.
- Game 5-7: This was rough. I had a losing streak, and I could feel the tilt setting in. I even started questioning my life choices…like, why am I doing this to myself?
- Game 8-9: I pulled it together, switched up my champion pool a bit, and managed to snag two wins.
- Game 10: The final game. It was a nail-biter, but I managed to secure a win. Felt pretty good about that one!
The Result
After all that, I ended up with 4 wins and 6 losses in my placements. Not the best, but not the worst either. I got placed in Silver III, which is about where I expected to be. It was a humbling experience, to say the least.
My main goal now is to climb up to Gold before the split ends. It’s gonna be a grind, but I’m ready for it. I’ve started watching some pro play and high-level streams to pick up some new strategies and improve my gameplay. I’m also trying to be more positive and not let the losses get to me.
I’ve been keeping a journal, and recording my stats, champions played, and win/loss ratios for each game. It was pretty hard to keep up with at first, but it’s getting easier. I wanted to be able to look back and see what I needed to improve on, and where I was going wrong, and it’s helped me a lot.
It’s a long season, and there’s plenty of time to improve. I’m excited to see how far I can go in this split. Wish me luck, guys!
