Okay, so, I’ve been on this Pokémon Go kick lately. It’s been a blast, honestly. But, like any self-respecting trainer, I wanted to up my game. Specifically, I wanted to get my hands on all those Vivillon patterns. You know, the butterfly Pokémon with different wing designs depending on where your friends are from? That’s where the real challenge started.
Finding Friends
First things first, I needed friends. Lots of them. And not just any friends, but friends from all over the globe. So, I started out by asking people I play with already. We added each other and started exchanging gifts.

- Searching online: Then, I went online. I dove into forums and social media groups dedicated to Pokémon Go. Found threads where people were posting their trainer codes specifically for Vivillon hunting. It was awesome.
- Adding friend codes: Every day, I dedicated some time to adding people. Copying codes, pasting them into the game, sending friend requests. It became part of my daily routine. Sometimes I got a lot, sometimes not, but it was all in the process.
Gift Exchange
Once I had a decent list of friends, the next step was the gift exchange. This part was crucial, and it took a lot of patience.
- Daily gifts: I made sure to send out gifts every single day. Spun a bunch of PokéStops, stocked up on gifts, and sent them out. My friends list was pretty long, so this took a while.
- Opening gifts: I also had to make sure I had enough space in my inventory to open gifts. It was a balancing act, managing my items and making room for those precious postcards.
- Pinning Postcards: With every gift I opened, I pinned the postcard to my collection. This is how you collect the different Vivillon patterns, you know. Each region gives you progress toward a specific Vivillon medal.
Tracking Progress
Keeping track of all this was a whole other thing. I had to keep checking which regions I needed, how many postcards I had from each place, all of that.
- Checking Medals: I regularly checked my Vivillon medals in the game. It shows you how far along you are for each region. Some were filling up fast, others were super slow.
- Noting Friends: I started keeping a little note on my phone. Just jotting down where my friends were from, so I could prioritize who to open gifts from. I mean, I didn’t have enough time in the day to open everything from every friend, you know?
Success At Last
After weeks of this grind, I started seeing results. I evolved my first few Scatterbugs into Vivillon, and let me tell you, it felt good! Seeing those different patterns pop up on my screen was super satisfying. I felt like a real collector.
It wasn’t easy, and it definitely took a lot of time and effort. But, in the end, it was worth it. I’ve got a bunch of Vivillon now, and I’m still going. It’s become a fun little side quest in my Pokémon Go journey. Plus, I’ve made some cool friends along the way. It’s like, we’re all in this together, you know, trying to catch ’em all. Or, well, collect ’em all in this case!
