So, I wanted to share my little adventure from yesterday. I decided to dive into the depths of ranking some League of Legends champions, specifically for the mid lane. Yeah, just your average gamer stuff, but it turned into a bit of a project.
First things first, I fired up the game and jumped into a few matches. Just to get a feel for how everyone’s performing in the current meta, you know? I played a bunch of different champs, some I’m comfy with, others not so much. Let me tell you, some of those matches were rough. I’m not even that good, but we all have our days, right?

After getting my butt kicked a few times (and dishing out some myself, thankfully), I started jotting down some notes. I made this messy list of all the mid laners I could think of and how they stacked up against each other. Then I started organizing them into different tiers. I had your S-tier, the ones that just feel overpowered right now, then the A-tier, solid picks but not busted. Then there’s B-tier, you know, they are fine but nothing special. And lastly, I had this D-tier, for those champions that are not even that good right now.
- S-tier: These are the ones I felt were just dominating.
- A-tier: Really good, consistent picks.
- B-tier: Situational, you know, they have their moments.
- D-tier: Honestly, just felt a bit weak.
I spent a good chunk of the day tweaking this list. Moving champions up and down, arguing with myself about where they should be. It’s tougher than it sounds! The balance of this game is always changing, so it’s like hitting a moving target. I even hopped onto some forums and checked out what other players were saying, just to see if I was totally off base with my assessments.
The Final List
In the end, I came up with something I felt pretty good about. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure some people will disagree, but that’s part of the fun, right? It’s all subjective. It’s cool to see how different people view these champions and their strengths.
So yeah, that’s how I spent my day. Building a mid-tier list for League. It was a fun little project, and it definitely gave me a better appreciation for how complex this game can be. Plus, now I have a handy little guide for when I’m trying to decide who to pick in my ranked games. Maybe I’ll even climb a little higher this season. Who knows?
