Okay, so I really wanted to get into MLB The Show, and I heard that the face scan feature was pretty cool. I thought it would be awesome to put myself in the game, you know? So, I got everything set up, downloaded the companion app on my phone, and followed all the instructions. The app asked me to take a bunch of pictures of my face from different angles – front, sides, the whole nine yards. I did all that, making sure the lighting was good and my face was clear.
I uploaded the photos, and the app started doing its thing. I was so excited, imagining myself hitting home runs in the big leagues. But then, nothing. The app just kept loading and loading, and eventually, it gave me some error message. I was like, “What the heck?” I tried it again, thinking maybe I did something wrong. Took the pictures again, uploaded them, same result. Still not working.
I even tried restarting my phone, thinking it might be a glitch or something. But nope, that didn’t do anything. Then I thought maybe it was my internet connection, so I made sure I was on a strong Wi-Fi network. Tried it all over again. Still nothing. It was super frustrating because I was really looking forward to seeing my face in the game.
I started digging around online, checking forums and stuff, to see if anyone else had this problem. Turns out, a bunch of people were having the same issue. Some folks said it might be a problem with the app itself, or maybe the servers were overloaded. Others suggested trying at different times of the day when maybe there’s less traffic. I tried that too, doing it early in the morning and then late at night, just in case. Still no luck.
I also checked if the app needed an update. It was up to date, so that wasn’t the issue. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app a couple of times, hoping that would fix it. Nope, still wouldn’t work. By this point, I was pretty bummed out. I spent a good chunk of time trying to figure this out, and it just wouldn’t cooperate.

- Checking my internet connection.
- Trying at different times of the day.
- Updating, uninstalling, and reinstalling the app.
So yeah, that’s my story of trying to get the MLB The Show face scan to work. It was a total letdown. I really wanted to see myself in the game, but it just wasn’t happening. If anyone has any tips or tricks that actually work, let me know. Otherwise, I guess I’ll just have to play with a generic character.
