So, I’ve been diving deep into Gran Turismo 7 lately, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. The game itself is awesome, don’t get me wrong. But there’s this whole thing with, you know, buying stuff in the game that I wanted to share.
When I first started, I was just cruising around, doing the races, earning some credits the good old-fashioned way. It felt rewarding, you know? Like I was really making progress. I saved up and bought my first few cars, made some upgrades, the usual stuff.

But then, I started eyeing those really fancy, super-fast cars. You know the ones I’m talking about – the legendary ones that cost a fortune in the game. And that’s where things got tricky. It became clear that earning enough credits to get those cars was going to take, like, forever. I mean, I’d have to race non-stop for weeks, maybe even months, to afford just one of them.
Then I noticed it – the option to buy credits with real money. It’s right there, staring you in the face. And let me tell you, it’s tempting. Really tempting. I mean, who wouldn’t want to just skip the grind and jump straight into those dream cars?
I thought about it for a while. I even did some quick math. It seemed like spending a few bucks here and there could really speed things up. I could get that car I wanted way faster, and that seemed pretty cool at first.
And, I have to admit, I did it. I bought some credits. Not a ton, but enough to get my hands on one of those fancy cars I’d been drooling over. And yeah, it was fun to drive. I felt powerful, like a real racing champion, ha.
But after a while, something didn’t feel right. It’s like, I had skipped a whole chunk of the game. The satisfaction of earning something slowly was gone. It felt…hollow, I guess? Like I cheated myself out of the real experience.
So, here’s my take on the whole thing. Can you buy stuff in Gran Turismo 7 with real money? Absolutely. Is it tempting? You bet. But does it make the game more fun in the long run? In my experience, not really.
I’ve gone back to earning credits the hard way now. It’s slower, sure, but it feels so much better when I finally get that car I’ve been working towards. It’s like a real accomplishment. I learned it the hard way, I really did.
My Two Cents
- Grinding is part of the game: It’s supposed to take time to earn those top-tier cars. That’s part of the challenge and the fun.
- Instant gratification fades fast: Buying your way to the top might feel good at first, but it can cheapen the experience in the long term.
- It’s your choice: At the end of the day, it’s up to you how you want to play. Just be aware of the potential downsides before you start spending your hard-earned cash.
Anyway, that’s my story. Hope it helps someone out there who’s on the fence about this whole microtransaction thing. I guess I’m back to racing. Wish me luck.
