Alright, so I’ve been messing around with Teamfight Tactics again, and let me tell you, I stumbled upon something pretty fun – the Olaf carry comp. I wasn’t really planning on it, but the game just kinda threw Olaf items at me, and I thought, “Why not?”
Getting Started
So, it all began with me just playing a normal game, trying to stay flexible. I picked up a few early Bruisers, you know, just to have a solid frontline. Then, I noticed I was getting a lot of swords and bows – perfect for Olaf. I snagged an early Olaf and thought, “Okay, let’s see where this goes.”

I started slapping those items on him. I remember I got a Bloodthirster first, which is like, amazing for keeping him alive. It’s really important he has sustain! Then, I think I got a Runaan’s Hurricane. More damage across multiple targets? Yes, please! I was feeling good.
Mid-Game Shenanigans
Mid-game was a bit of a rollercoaster. I was trying to build up my economy while also keeping my comp strong. I added in some Skirmishers to boost Olaf’s damage even more. I think I had like, a Jax and maybe a Nidalee in there. My frontline was still mostly Bruisers, with a random Gragas or Sett just holding the line.
I was winning some rounds, losing some. You know how it is. But I was committed to this Olaf carry idea. I even managed to get a Deathblade at some point. It is one of my favorite items! I was really just focusing on getting those key items and upgrading my units.
Late-Game Push
Late game is where things got interesting. I finally hit level 8 and started rolling for those legendary units. I was really hoping for a Viego, you know, to get that sweet Skirmisher synergy maxed out. And guess what? I found him! Man, that felt good.
- Olaf: Bloodthirster, Runaan’s Hurricane, Deathblade – he was a monster!
- Viego: Just needed him for the synergy, didn’t really itemize him.
- Jax: Had some leftover tank items, like a Sunfire Cape maybe?
- Other Skirmishers: Filled them out as I could.
- Bruisers: Still had a couple to soak up damage.
With the full Skirmisher synergy and my stacked Olaf, I started crushing it. He was just mowing down the enemy team. It was glorious! I even managed to snag a second-place finish. Lost to some crazy Revenant comp, but hey, second place is still pretty good, right?
So yeah, that’s my story of how I accidentally became an Olaf carry main. It was a wild ride, but definitely a fun one. If you ever get a chance to try it, I say go for it! You might be surprised at how strong he can be.
