Alright, so I’ve been playing a ton of Pokemon Go lately, and I’ve really gotten into building up my team. One Pokemon I’ve been focusing on is Gallade. This guy is a Psychic and Fighting type, which is pretty cool, but figuring out the best moves for him has been a journey, to say the least.
I started out by just catching a bunch of Ralts. You need to evolve it into Kirlia first, and then use a Sinnoh Stone to get Gallade. It took a while to gather enough candies, but I finally got a couple with decent stats. The first time, I just went with whatever moves the game gave me when I evolved them. Big mistake.

I started trying out different combinations in battles, and let me tell you, it was rough. I got crushed a few times because I just didn’t have the right moves. I realized I needed to do some digging. I started hitting up some forums and watching some videos from other players. It was a bit overwhelming at first, all these different opinions on what’s best.
After experimenting and reading up, here’s what I figured out. For the fast move, Confusion is the way to go. I tried Charm as my fast move at first, but then I noticed that although Charm has good power, Confusion will cause more damage per second. It charges up your charge moves a bit slower, but the damage output is worth it. Trust me, I learned this the hard way.
Now for the charge moves, this is where it gets interesting. Initially, I was all about Psychic, for obvious reasons. It hits hard, but I found myself needing something that could cover more types. I added Close Combat to the mix, and wow, what a difference.
- Close Combat: This Fighting-type move is super powerful. It does lower Gallade’s defense, so you gotta use it strategically, but it can really turn the tide of a battle. I used it against a Tyranitar the other day, and it just demolished it.
- Leaf Blade: Another move that I considered using, but its damage per second is lower than Close Combat.
My Ideal Gallade Moveset
So, after all that trial and error, my perfect Gallade setup is:
- Fast Move: Confusion
- Charge Move: Close Combat
- Charge Move: Psychic
This combination has been working wonders for me. I can take on a wider variety of opponents, and Gallade has become a real powerhouse on my team. It’s been a fun learning process, figuring all this out. Hopefully, this helps some of you out there who are also trying to build the best Gallade possible. Keep battling and good luck!
