Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about Terrakion and what I think is the best moveset for this guy. I’ve been playing around with it for a while now, and I think I’ve finally cracked the code. Let’s get to it!
Getting Started with Terrakion
First off, I grabbed my trusty old game and fired it up. I already had a Terrakion, but if you don’t, you’re gonna have to catch one. It’s not too hard, just remember where to find it in your game. I’m not gonna go into details about that.

Experimenting with Moves
Now comes the fun part – messing around with different moves. I started by trying out all the usual suspects. You know, the basic fighting and rock moves. Here’s what I initially tried:
- Sacred Sword – Seemed like a no-brainer, it’s a powerful fighting move.
- Stone Edge – High critical-hit ratio, always a good option.
- Earthquake – Just for some ground-type coverage.
- X-Scissor – Thought it might be useful against some psychic types.
Analyzing the Results
I battled with this setup for a while, and honestly, it was okay. But it just didn’t feel like I was getting the most out of Terrakion. Some fights were easy, some were a real struggle. It was just inconsistent. So I went back to the drawing board. I spent a good chunk of time just looking at Terrakion’s stats and thinking about what would really make it shine.
The “Aha!” Moment
Then it hit me. Terrakion is fast and hits hard. So why not double down on that? I decided to ditch Earthquake and X-Scissor for moves that would boost its speed and attack even more. I swapped those out for:
- Swords Dance – Boosts attack by two stages!
- Close Combat – Another powerful fighting move. Lowers defense and special defense, but with Terrakion’s speed, it often doesn’t matter.
Testing the Final Moveset
I took this new setup into battle, and wow, what a difference! I was sweeping through teams. Here’s how a typical battle went:
- Lead with Terrakion.
- Use Swords Dance on the first turn if it’s safe.
- Start using Close Combat or Stone Edge depending on the opponent.
- Watch the opponent’s Pokemon faint.
My Final Thoughts
So, after all that experimenting, here’s what I ended up with, and what I believe is the best moveset for Terrakion:
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Sacred Sword
- Swords Dance
This setup is just brutal. You get that insane attack boost from Swords Dance, and then you just obliterate everything with your powerful STAB moves. Trust me, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. This is just what worked for me. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
See you next time!
