Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with my CS:GO setup and see if I could get that X-ray vision working with the P250 pistol. You know, that cool feature where you can see enemies through walls? Yeah, that one. I figured, why not try it with my trusty P250, since it’s my go-to pistol in-game?
First off, I launched the game. I made sure I had the developer console enabled – that’s crucial for these kinds of tweaks. You can usually turn it on in the game settings.

Once I had the game running, I opened up the console, you know, by pressing that tilde key (~) under the ESC key. Then, I typed in the main command to turn on X-ray vision: r_drawothermodels 2
. This basically tells the game to show other player models as wireframes.
But that wasn’t enough to get that full X-ray effect. I needed to make sure the models were visible through walls. So, I punched in another command: sv_cheats 1
. Now, this one’s important. It enables cheat commands, which you obviously can’t use in a regular match. But for messing around in a private server or with bots, it’s all good.
I started up a practice match with some bots, just to see how it looked. And bam! There they were, those bots, showing up as bright outlines through walls. It was pretty cool, but it applied to all the weapons, not just the P250.
I did some digging online, and honestly there are all sorts of advanced configurations to make x-ray bind to a certain key, but this was enough for me. I bound the x-ray toggle to a key on my keyboard, so I can quickly switch it on and off. It makes for some funny moments in practice.
So, after a bit of fiddling, I got the X-ray working with my P250. It’s not like it changed my gameplay drastically, it is a cheat after all, but it was a fun little experiment. Here’s how the key steps looked like:
- Enabled the developer console in the game settings.
- Opened the console with the tilde key (~).
- Typed in
r_drawothermodels 2
to show player models as wireframes. - Entered
sv_cheats 1
to enable cheat commands. - Bound a toggle key for fun.
And that’s it! X-ray vision with the P250, or any weapon, really. Just remember, this is only for practice or private servers. Don’t go using this in a real match, or you’ll get yourself into trouble.
