Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with Pokemon Go a lot lately, and I wanted to see if Toxicroak is any good. I mean, it looks pretty cool, right? That whole poison-fighting frog thing is awesome. So, I started by catching a bunch of Croagunk. Those little guys are everywhere, especially when it’s cloudy or raining in the game. You need like 50 candies to evolve them into Toxicroak, so I just kept tapping on every Croagunk I saw.
Once I had enough candies, I picked the Croagunk with the best stats – you know, the ones with high attack, defense, and HP. I tapped that “evolve” button, and bam, there it was, my very own Toxicroak. Then i use the stardust and candy to power up its CP.

Then came the fun part – testing it out in battles!
- I started with some gym battles. Toxicroak’s fighting moves, like Counter, are super effective against those normal and rock types that are always in gyms. It was pretty good! It did decent damage, and it could take a few hits, too.
- Next, I tried it out in some raids. I figured its poison moves might be useful against fairy types. And they were, to an extent. But Toxicroak isn’t exactly a powerhouse, so it wasn’t the best against those tough raid bosses.
- Finally, I took it to the Go Battle League. That’s where things got interesting. Toxicroak can be a bit of a glass cannon – it hits hard, but it can’t take too many hits in return. It’s all about using it strategically. You gotta know when to switch it out, and you gotta make sure it’s facing an opponent it has an advantage over.
Here is my Toxicroak’s move set:
- Fast Attack: Counter
- Charged Attack: Dynamic Punch, Mud Bomb
After all this, I’d say Toxicroak is decent. I would not say it is the strongest fighter you will have, but for certain matchups, it can be a valuable member of your team. It is fun to use, but it’s not going to win you every battle. You really have to know how to use it, and you need to have some other strong Pokemon to back it up. But hey, it’s a cool-looking Pokemon, and it’s fun to try out different strategies with it.
So, if you’re like me and you just enjoy trying out different Pokemon, give Toxicroak a shot. If you’re looking for the absolute best Pokemon for every situation, there are better options out there. Just keep catching those Croagunk, and have fun experimenting!
