Alright, let’s talk about getting that Genesect with the Burn Drive in Pokémon GO. It wasn’t a walk in the park, I gotta say. I’ve been playing this game for a while now, and I’m always on the lookout for these special Pokémon. So when I heard about this specific Genesect, I knew I had to snag it.
First thing I did was check out what raids were happening. See, Genesect, it’s a raid boss, and this one, the Burn Drive version, it only pops up in five-star raids. So, I kept an eye on the raid tab in the game, waiting for it to show up. It took a couple of days, but finally, boom, there it was.

Now, you can’t just jump into these raids solo, especially not a five-star one. You need backup. I reached out to my local Pokémon GO group. We have a pretty active chat, and luckily, a few folks were also keen on getting this Genesect. We agreed on a time and a place to meet up at the gym where the raid was happening.
When the time came, we all showed up, ready to battle. We made sure everyone had their best counters ready. This Genesect, it’s a Bug and Steel type, but with that Burn Drive, it knows Fire-type moves. So, I made sure my team was packed with strong Fire-type Pokémon. I’m talking Charizard, Moltres, you know, the heavy hitters.
We jumped into the raid, and man, it was a tough fight! This Genesect was no pushover. We were all tapping away, dodging attacks, using our charged moves. It was intense. I remember my heart was racing, hoping we’d take it down before time ran out.
- Get Ready: I made sure my phone was charged and I had a good internet connection. No one wants to get kicked out mid-raid!
- Team Up: Like I said, you can’t do this alone. Get your friends or a local group together.
- Pick Your Best: Fire, Fire, Fire! Bring your strongest Fire-type Pokémon.
- Battle Hard: Dodge those attacks and use your charged moves wisely!
Finally, after a nail-biting battle, we defeated it! But the work wasn’t over yet. Then came the catching part. You get a limited number of Premier Balls to try and catch it, and the catch rate isn’t always great.
I used Golden Razz Berries to boost my chances, and I practiced my curveball throws. Gotta get those Excellent throws if you can. It took a few tries, a few anxious moments where I thought it might break free, but finally, with one last throw, I caught it! Man, the feeling of relief and excitement was something else.
So, yeah, that’s how I got my Genesect with the Burn Drive. It was a whole process, but totally worth it in the end. Now I have this awesome, powerful Pokémon in my collection. It just goes to show, persistence and a little teamwork can go a long way in Pokémon GO!
If you are trying to get your own Genesect, remember to be patient! It might take some time for it to show up in raids again. Good luck to you all, and happy hunting!
