Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with “MLB The Show 24” lately, and let me tell you, those sidearm pitchers are a whole different breed. I wanted to get the hang of them, you know, really figure out how they work in the game. So, I jumped in, ready to experiment.
First, I headed straight to the “Create-A-Player” mode. Figured that was the best place to start. I spent some time tinkering with different pitching motions, trying to find that perfect sidearm delivery. You can really go nuts with the customization in this game, which is awesome.

Experimenting with Pitching Styles
After I created my pitcher, I took him into practice mode. I just wanted to see how the ball moved with a sidearm delivery, how different pitches behaved. It’s wild, man. The way the ball breaks, it’s so different from what you’re used to with overhand guys. I was throwing sliders, sinkers, everything.
- Spent a good chunk of time just watching the ball flight.
- Noticed how much the ball tails and drops.
- Started to get a feel for aiming a bit differently.
Taking It to the Field
Once I felt like I had a decent grasp of the basics, I decided to take my sidearm pitcher into some actual games. Started with “Road to the Show” mode, you know, the career thing. It was a bit rough at first. I was walking batters, giving up hits, the usual rookie struggles.
But I kept at it. I paid close attention to how batters were reacting to my pitches. I learned to mix things up, throw off their timing. It’s like, you gotta be sneaky with these sidearm guys. You can’t just overpower everyone. You gotta be crafty and think about how to set them up.
Finally Got the Hang of It
Slowly but surely, I started to see some success. I was getting more strikeouts, inducing weak contact. It felt good, you know? Like I was actually figuring this thing out. I even managed to get called up to the majors in the game, which was a cool moment.
So, yeah, that’s my journey with sidearm pitchers in “MLB The Show 24.” It took some time, some practice, and a lot of patience. But it was worth it. These guys are so much fun to use once you get the hang of them. If you’re playing the game, give them a try. It’s a whole different way to play, and it’s pretty rewarding when you start dominating with them.
