Okay, so today I really wanted to get a Hakamo-o in Pokémon Go. I’ve been trying to get one for a while now, and I figured today was the day.
First thing I did was open up the Pokémon Go app on my phone. You know how it is, gotta make sure the GPS is working and all that. Then, I checked my nearby Pokémon to see if there were any Jangmo-o around. See, you gotta catch a Jangmo-o first and then evolve it into Hakamo-o. No luck there, just the usual Pidgeys and Rattatas.
So, I decided to take a walk around my neighborhood. I put on my shoes, grabbed my phone charger, just in case, and headed out the door. I must have walked for like an hour, tapping on every Pokémon that popped up. Still no Jangmo-o.
Then, I remembered that sometimes these guys like to hang out near parks or places with a lot of PokéStops. There’s a park a few blocks away, so I started walking in that direction. I used a couple of incense to see if that would attract one, but no dice.
Finally, I reached the park and started doing laps around the place. Checked every spawn point, battled a few trainers at the gyms, you know, the usual stuff. And then, boom, there it was. A Jangmo-o. I couldn’t believe my eyes.
I tapped on it and started the encounter. Threw a couple of Razz Berries to make it easier to catch and then tossed a Great Ball. It broke free once, twice… but on the third try, I caught it. Yes!
Now, I just needed enough candies to evolve it. I already had some from a few Jangmo-o I caught a while back. So I fed the newly caught Jangmo-o all my Rare Candies. I checked my candy count and realized I only needed a few more to evolve it. I then transferred the other Jangmo-o I didn’t need. I then fed the one I wanted to evolve all the candies until I had enough.
Tapped on the Evolve button, and there it was, a Hakamo-o! Man, I was so stoked. It took a while, but I finally got it.
After that, I just headed back home, pretty happy with my new Hakamo-o. It’s not the strongest Pokémon, but it’s one that I really wanted. Gotta catch ’em all, right?

Closing Thoughts
It was a good day. Took a bit of effort, but I finally got that Hakamo-o I was after. Now, onto the next one, Kommo-o! That will be a whole other adventure, I am sure. Anyone else have any luck catching these guys? Let me know in the comments!
