Today I finally caught a Hakamo-o in Pokémon Go! It took me a while, but it was totally worth it. I’ve been playing Pokémon Go since it first came out, and I’ve always loved the thrill of the hunt, you know? Finding those rare Pokémon, adding them to my collection… it’s just so satisfying.
So, I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was, obviously, check my phone, like everyone else. Opened up Pokémon Go, and saw there was a nearby raid. I almost didn’t go, because, let’s be real, mornings are rough, but the raid featured a Hakamo-o, and I’ve been wanting one for ages!

Getting to the Raid
-
Checked the raid details: Saw it was a Hakamo-o raid. I grabbed my power bank, because you never know how long these things can take, put on some shoes, and headed out.
-
Walked to the gym: It was about a 15-minute walk. Not too bad, got some fresh air, and saw a couple of other players heading the same way. We exchanged knowing nods – the universal language of Pokémon Go players on their way to a raid.
The Battle
There were about eight of us in total, which is a pretty good number. We jumped into the battle. My thumbs were ready. I used some of my strongest Pokémon: a couple of Tyranitars and a Dragonite. The battle was intense! We whittled down Hakamo-o’s health, dodging its attacks and throwing everything we had at it. It was a close call, but we finally managed to defeat it!
Catching Hakamo-o
Now for the most nerve-wracking part – the catch. I used a Golden Razz Berry to boost my chances, because catching a rare Pokemon is difficult, and took a deep breath. I threw a Great Ball. It shook once… twice… three times… and then it clicked! Yes! I caught it! I actually did a little fist-pump right there, not gonna lie. Some old lady gave me a weird look, but it was totally worth it.
I checked its stats and it wasn’t bad, pretty good actually! I’m not sure yet if I’ll power it up or evolve it into a Kommo-o right away, but still, I’m just stoked to have it in my collection. It’s days like these that make me remember why I love this game so much. It’s not just about catching ’em all, it’s about the adventure, the community, and those little victories that make your day. Keep on catching, trainers!
