Okay, so I was playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons today and I wanted to get my hands on a turban shell. These things are supposed to be around all year, so I thought, “Piece of cake, right?” Wrong!
First off, I ran around the beach, checking every single shell I could find. I picked up a ton of sand dollars, a few conches, and even a couple of giant clams. But no turban shells. Nada. Zilch. I spent a good hour just scouring the shoreline, back and forth, back and forth. My eyes were starting to get sore from squinting at the screen, trying to spot that telltale swirly shell.

Then I thought, “Maybe they’re only in certain spots?” So I started to be more methodical. I checked around the rocks, where the waves were crashing. I even tried different times of day, thinking maybe they were nocturnal creatures or something. Still nothing. My inventory was full of everything but what I actually needed.
At one point, I got so frustrated that I started hitting the rocks with my shovel. I don’t know what I was expecting, maybe a turban shell would magically pop out? Of course, that didn’t happen. I just ended up with a bunch of stones and a broken shovel. Great.
The Breakthrough
But then, after what felt like an eternity, I finally spotted one! It was just sitting there, innocently, on the sand, like it had been there all along. I ran over and snatched it up. Finally! I did a little victory dance, which, I’ll admit, was pretty embarrassing if anyone had been watching.
- Collected a bunch of other shells.
- Searched high and low.
- Got frustrated and hit some rocks.
- Found one turban shell!
So, yeah, that’s my story of how I spent way too much time hunting for a single turban shell in Animal Crossing. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, let me tell you. But hey, at least I got it in the end, right? Now I can finally move on with my virtual life.
