Okay, so I’ve been grinding in Pokemon Go lately, trying to get the best possible Snorlax. You know, that big, sleepy dude who’s basically a roadblock? Yeah, that one. I really wanted to beef him up to be a beast in gyms and raids.
First, I started catching every Snorlax I could find. Weather boost? You bet I was out there. Raids? I was the first one in the lobby. I even used those precious Pinap Berries to double up on the candy. I needed a ton of it to power up my Snorlax army!

Once I had a few good ones with high IVs, the next step was figuring out the best moveset. This is where things got a little tricky. I had to do some research because, honestly, I didn’t want to waste those TMs. There’s a lot of discussion out there about which moves are the best.
From what I gathered, here is what I did:
- For the Fast Move, I went with Lick. Some folks say Zen Headbutt is better, but from my experience, Lick generates energy faster, which means I can use the Charged Moves more often. And that’s the key, right?
- Now, for the Charged Moves, it gets interesting. I decided to go with Body Slam as the primary one. It’s a three-bar move, so it charges up pretty quickly, and it’s great for baiting shields in PvP. It does decent damage, too!
- For the second Charged Move, I unlocked Superpower. This one is a bit of a gamble because it lowers Snorlax’s attack and defense after use. But, it hits like a truck, especially against those pesky Fighting-types that Snorlax is weak to. It’s a good way to surprise opponents.
After I settled on the moves, I started testing it out. I threw my Snorlax into gyms, battled in raids, and even tried it out in the Go Battle League. I have to say, it performed pretty well!
My Findings
The Lick and Body Slam combo was great for consistent damage. I could spam Body Slam like crazy, putting a lot of pressure on my opponents. Superpower was a lifesaver in certain situations, like when I was up against a Blissey or another Snorlax.
Of course, it’s not perfect. There were times when I wished I had a different Charged Move, like Earthquake for coverage against Steel-types. But overall, I was happy with my choices. It really depends on your play style and what you need Snorlax to do.
So yeah, that’s my experience with getting the best moves for Snorlax in Pokemon Go. It took some time, some resources, and a lot of trial and error. But in the end, I built a powerful Snorlax that’s been a real asset to my team. If you’re working on your own Snorlax, I hope this helps! Good luck, and happy catching!
