Alright, so I’ve been waiting for Madden 24 to drop, and I finally got around to preloading it. Let me tell you, the whole process was a bit of a rollercoaster.
First off, I’ve got an PS5, so naturally, I headed over to the PlayStation Store. Found the game, no problem. I’d already pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition like a month ago because, you know, gotta get those extra perks.

Clicked on the game, and there it was – the glorious “Pre-load” button. Hit that bad boy, and the download started. My internet’s not the fastest, so I figured I’d let it do its thing in the background while I did some other stuff.
Here’s where things got a little wonky. I checked back after like an hour, and the download was crawling. Like, seriously slow. I paused it, restarted it, the whole nine yards. Still slow. I even restarted my console a few times to test it out.
- Paused the download.
- Restarted the download.
- Restarted my console a few times.
Eventually, I decided to just leave it overnight. Woke up the next morning, and boom, it was done! I guess patience is key, huh?
My Madden NFL 24 Pre-load Size
Now, the size of this thing was hefty. We’re talking almost 50 GB for the PS5 version. Make sure you’ve got enough space on your console before you start the download, or you’re gonna have a bad time.
Anyway, after all that, I was finally ready to jump into the game. Fired it up, and man, it was worth the wait. The graphics are insane, the gameplay feels smoother, and the new features are pretty sweet.
So yeah, preloading Madden 24 was a bit of an adventure, but I’m glad I did it. Now I can spend my time actually playing the game instead of waiting for it to download. If you’re thinking about preloading, just be prepared for a potentially long download and make sure you have enough storage space.
Trust me, though, it’s worth it in the end.
