Alright, so I wanted to get into making a tier list for the mid lane in League of Legends. I’ve been playing this game for a while now, and I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts on which champions are crushing it and which ones are kinda… meh.
First, I jumped into a bunch of games, playing different mid laners to get a fresh feel for how they’re performing in the current meta. I tried to cover a good mix of styles, you know, assassins, mages, and those weird control-mage-assassin hybrids that Riot loves to release. Played a few ranked, couple of normals, even some ARAMs for good measure.
Then, I started jotting down some notes on each champion. Wrote about how they felt in lane, how well they scaled, and how much impact I felt like I had in team fights. I also kept track of how often they were banned because, let’s be real, some champs are just permabanned right now.
- Like, seriously, Akali and Sylas, always gone.
- And then you have your Yasuo, Yone, and Zed.
- Also, some mages like Syndra or Orianna are pretty strong.
After I had a good chunk of data, I started categorizing the champions. Initially, I was thinking of the classic S, A, B, C, D tiers, but it felt kinda boring. So, I decided to spice things up a bit.
Here’s the tier system I came up with:
- “God Tier”: These are the champions that just feel broken. You pick them, you win lane, you win the game.
- “Pretty Damn Good”: Solid picks, reliable, can definitely carry if you know what you’re doing.
- “Mid”: It is a little bit ironic. They’re alright, you know? Situational, might work in some team comps, but not always the best choice.
- “Kinda There”: Honestly, these champs need some love from Riot. Maybe a buff or two.
- “Why Even Bother”: Just… don’t. There are better options out there.
I spent a good couple of hours debating with myself about where each champion belonged. Like, is Ahri “God Tier” or just “Pretty Damn Good”? Is Viktor “Mid” or “Kinda There” after those last nerfs? It’s tough, man. But finally, I finalized my list. I put each champion into its respective tier. Some were easy, some were hard, and some I’m still not 100% sure about, and I am sure many of you will also have different thoughts.
I think this tier list is a good starting point for anyone looking to dominate the mid lane. But hey, the meta’s always changing, and what’s strong today might be weak tomorrow. Plus, it’s League, so play what you enjoy, and don’t let some random guy on the internet tell you otherwise!
