Okay, so, I’ve been playing Pokemon Go for a while now, and I gotta say, the whole Vivillon thing has been super interesting. For those who don’t know, Vivillon is this butterfly Pokemon with a bunch of different wing patterns, and the pattern you get depends on where your friends are from in the real world. I’ve been on a mission to get them all, but getting friend codes is not easy!
First, I started by joining a bunch of Pokemon Go groups online. I figured that would be the easiest way to find people from all over. And it was, sort of. I mean, I did find a ton of people, but actually getting them to add me and send gifts consistently? That was a whole other story. Some people were on it, sending gifts every day. Others? Well, let’s just say I’m still waiting on a postcard from them!
So what did I do? I did some research online, and found that there were a few websites and forums dedicated to sharing friend codes specifically for Vivillon collecting.
After finding some potential friends from these places, I started sending out friend requests. But I made sure to personalize each message, saying where I was from and that I was looking for specific Vivillon patterns. I think that helped a lot, because I got a bunch of new friends who were also into collecting. We were on the same page, you know? And they actually sent gifts.
- Joining groups: This was a good starting point, but a bit hit or miss.
- Research: I started looking up dedicated friend code sharing places online.
- Sending friend requests: I sent out friend requests, but I made sure to personalize each message.
- Sending and opening gifts: This part takes a while. You gotta send and open gifts from your friends, and each gift has a chance of giving you a postcard that counts towards a Vivillon pattern.
- Pinning postcards: You pin the postcards you get, and eventually, you’ll encounter a Scatterbug that evolves into the Vivillon with the pattern from that region.
It’s a grind, for sure. It takes time and effort to build up your friend list and get those postcards. But it’s also been really fun. I’ve “met” people from all over the world, and it’s cool to see where everyone is playing from. Plus, I have finally gotten all the Vivillon patterns!
If you’re trying to collect all the Vivillon patterns, my advice is to be patient and persistent. Keep sending those friend requests, keep sending and opening those gifts, and eventually, you’ll get there. And don’t be afraid to reach out to people and ask for help. The Pokemon Go community is generally pretty awesome, and there are plenty of people willing to help you out.
It has been a long but rewarding journey. Hope this helps some of you who are also working to complete your Vivillon collection.
