Okay, so I tried to do this Jack Skellington skin thing, and let me tell you, it was a trip. I saw this picture online, and I was like, “Yeah, I can do that.” How hard could it be, right? Famous last words.
First, I gathered all my stuff. I had some white face paint that I got for Halloween last year, some black eyeliner, and a bunch of brushes. I found a picture of Jack online to use as a guide. I thought this would be a piece of cake.

I started by painting my whole face white. That took longer than I thought, mainly because I kept smudging it. I tried to be patient and apply it evenly, but it felt like I was using a whole tube of paint. After what felt like an hour, I finally got my face covered in white. The next part was where things really started to get interesting.
I took my black eyeliner and carefully drew the outline of Jack’s big, round eyes. Then I filled them in. This was way harder than it looked. My hands were shaking, and I kept messing up. I had to wipe it off and start over a couple of times. I started to feel like I was never going to get it right. It didn’t help that I was sweating under all that white paint, which made everything even more slippery.
- Drew his stitched mouth.
- Added some shading around the eyes and nose.
- Cleaned up the edges with a cotton swab.
Finally, after a solid two hours, I finished. I stepped back and looked in the mirror. Honestly, it wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t terrible either. I looked like a slightly deranged version of Jack Skellington. I even managed to scare my cat when I walked into the living room.
It was a fun experiment, but I definitely learned a few things. Next time, I’ll probably get better quality face paint and maybe some finer brushes. And I’ll definitely practice more before Halloween. If you’re thinking of trying this, my advice is to be patient and have a lot of makeup remover on hand. It’s a lot harder than it looks, but it’s also a lot of fun.
The result?
A decent Jack Skellington skin. Not perfect, but hey, I did it.
