Okay, so I’ve been trying to get a Slowking in Pokemon Go, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. It all started when I realized I didn’t have one yet. I had a Slowpoke, but no Slowking. So, I set out on a mission.
First things first, I needed a King’s Rock. These things are like gold dust. I spent days spinning PokeStops, hoping to get lucky. I got tons of Pokeballs and potions, but no King’s Rock. I swear, I was starting to think they were a myth.

- Spinning PokeStops: This was my life for a good few days. I went to every PokeStop in my area, sometimes multiple times.
- Waiting for Weekly Rewards: I heard that you can sometimes get evolution items from the weekly rewards. So, I made sure to complete my research tasks and get that reward.
- Battling: You can also get a chance to get a King’s Rock after battling in the Go Battle League.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I finally got a King’s Rock. I couldn’t believe it. I quickly checked my Slowpoke candy, and of course, I didn’t have enough. Back to catching more.
Next up, I needed to get 50 Slowpoke candy. This part wasn’t too bad. I used Pinap Berries whenever I saw a Slowpoke, and I even walked with my Slowpoke as my buddy to get extra candy. This took a while, but it was way more straightforward than getting the King’s Rock.
The candy grind was real, I walked, caught more Slowpoke, used those Pinap Berries like they were going out of style, and eventually, I got the 50 candy. Finally, I had everything I needed. King’s Rock, check. 50 Slowpoke candy, check.
I went to my Slowpoke, made sure I had the King’s Rock selected as the evolution item, and hit that evolve button. And there it was, my very own Slowking! It was a good feeling, I have to admit. All that work actually paid off.
What I Learned
- Patience is key: Getting rare items and enough candy takes time, so just keep at it.
- Pinap Berries are your friends: Seriously, those things are lifesavers when you need candy.
- Buddy up: Walking with your Pokemon as your buddy is a great way to get extra candy.
So yeah, that’s how I got my Slowking in Pokemon Go. It was a bit of a grind, but it was worth it in the end. Now, onto the next Pokemon challenge! Gotta catch ’em all, right?
