Alright, guys, let’s talk about the new cards coming to Marvel Snap in September 2024. I’ve been playing around with them, and I gotta say, it’s a mixed bag. Let’s dive in and I’ll walk you through my experience.
First off, I got my hands on the Symbiote Spider-Man card. Now, this one is interesting. I tried throwing him into a few different decks to see where he shines. His ability, copying a card from your opponent’s starting deck, sounds super cool, right? But it’s kinda hit or miss. Sometimes I got a really powerful card that messed up my opponent’s whole game. Other times I got something totally useless that didn’t fit my deck at all.

The thing is, your opponent still keeps their original card.

Also you can’t copy any cards that were added or changed later on. Like those Infinity Stone guys, or ones affected by High Evolutionary.

So, yeah, it’s a gamble, and sometimes it is a good card, and sometimes it is not.
Next up, I played with Silver Sable. She’s got this ability where she discards the lowest-cost card from your hand to give another card +2 Power. I experimented with her in discard decks, naturally. It’s okay, I guess. Sometimes it’s helpful to get rid of a weak card and buff up something important. But other times, I ended up discarding something I actually needed later. Not my favorite, to be honest.
Then there’s Madame Web. Her whole deal is reducing the cost of cards in your hand that cost 4, 5, or 6. I tried using her to cheat out some big cards early on. It worked a few times, and it felt pretty powerful when it did. But honestly, it felt a bit too situational. If you don’t draw the right cards, she’s just kind of sitting there, not doing much.
Finally, I got to try out Araña. She moves to a location where you have a card after being played, and she adds a -1 Power debuff to an enemy card there. I slotted her into a move deck, and she was alright. It’s kind of fun to hop around the board, messing with your opponent’s Power. But I found that she wasn’t really game-changing most of the time.
I also heard some buzz about new cards like Uncle Ben and Tombstone potentially being added to Snap packs. If that’s true, it might shake things up a bit. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Honestly, after playing with these new September cards, I’m not sure any of them are must-haves. I think I’ll be saving my resources for something else, to be completely honest.
My Final Verdict
It feels like these cards are more for fun than for serious competitive play. They are not bad, they just are not great either. That’s my take on the September cards in Marvel Snap. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!
