Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this Doom Wave deck in Marvel Snap, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’m not some pro player or anything, just your average dude who likes to experiment with different card combos. I stumbled upon this archetype online called “Doom Wave” and figured, why not give it a shot?
So, I started by throwing together a bunch of cards that seemed like they might work well. I had Doctor Doom, of course, because he’s the namesake of the deck. Then there’s Wave, who’s essential for the whole strategy. The basic idea is to spread your power across all three locations, then hit them with Wave on turn five, followed by Doom on turn six.
I also included some cards that can generate more power over time like Nebula, since she gains power every turn your opponent doesn’t play a card at her location. Sunspot seemed like a good pick too, since he gains power for any unspent energy.
My first few games were a total mess. I kept forgetting to play Wave at the right time, or I’d misjudge how much power I needed in each location. A couple of times I even played Doom into a location where my opponent had already locked it down, which was pretty embarrassing. lol.
But, I started to get the hang of it after a while. I learned to be patient and not rush my plays. Figuring out where to place Nebula was also key. Sometimes it was better to put her in a location I knew my opponent would likely ignore, other times I used her as bait to draw out their cards. One game, I managed to get her power up to like 12, which was pretty sweet.

- Wave: Makes all cards cost 4 next turn, which is crucial for setting up Doom.
- Nebula: Gains power each turn your opponent doesn’t play at her location.
- Sunspot: Gets stronger with unspent energy.
- She-Hulk She is a good card that reduces its cost to 1 when you have unspent energy.
The deck definitely has its weaknesses. If you don’t draw Wave, for example, it’s tough to pull off the combo. And there are a few counter decks out there that can really mess you up, like anything with a lot of control cards, that can lock down the locations early, or move your cards.
What I Learned
After playing a bunch of games, I realized that this deck is all about being flexible. You can’t always rely on the perfect combo, so you need to be able to adapt to what your opponent is doing. Sometimes it’s better to just focus on winning two locations with raw power, rather than trying to force the Doom Wave play. I won a few games by just overwhelming my opponent in two locations before turn six.
Overall, I’d say this Doom Wave deck is pretty fun to play, even if you’re not a pro. It’s got a decent win rate, I saw some people online saying it’s like 62% or something crazy, and I even managed to climb a few ranks myself. It requires a bit of practice to get the hang of, but once you do, it’s pretty satisfying to pull off that Doom play on turn six and watch your opponent scramble.
