Well, guys, let me tell you about my recent adventure – I finally snagged myself a 100 IV Magikarp! Yeah, you heard that right, a perfect Magikarp. It’s been a journey, to say the least, and I’m here to spill all the beans.
It all started when I was chilling in Mistralton City. I remembered someone saying that you could find some rare Pokémon in the Nature Preserve. So, I hopped on a plane and made my way there. Once I got to the Preserve, I whipped out my Super Rod and started fishing. I must have spent hours there, casting my line over and over again.

At first, I was catching all sorts of Pokémon, but nothing really special. Then, I remembered this tip about finding a level 100 Magikarp in the Resort Area. Now, I’m not sure if that’s exactly where I found mine, but I did switch locations a few times. I even tried fishing in different spots within the Resort Area, just to mix things up.
The real struggle began when I started checking the IVs of each Magikarp I caught. Man, it was tedious! I used this app called CalcyIV, which is super helpful for this kind of thing. I’d catch a Magikarp, pop it into CalcyIV, and see what the stats were. Most of the time, they were pretty average. I did get a few that were close to perfect, like a 15/14/15 or a 15/15/14, but I wasn’t done.
I kept at it, though. I was determined to find that perfect Magikarp. I fished, and I fished, and I fished some more. There were times when I felt like giving up, but I just couldn’t shake the feeling that my 100 IV Magikarp was out there, waiting for me.
Then, it finally happened. I hooked a Magikarp, and something about it just felt different. I quickly opened up CalcyIV and plugged in its stats. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the results: 15/15/15! I couldn’t believe it. After all that time and effort, I had finally done it. I had caught a 100 IV Magikarp!
I know some of you might be wondering about the CP. To be honest, I don’t remember the exact CP of my Magikarp when I caught it. And frankly, I don’t think it really matters. What matters is the IVs, and mine was perfect. I did hear something about a quest rewarding a Magikarp with a CP of 117, but mine wasn’t from a quest.
So, yeah, that’s my story. It was a grind, for sure, but totally worth it in the end. For those who don’t want to waste time, I suggest you go to the Resort Area, and keep fishing there until you get a perfect Magikarp.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
- Traveled to the Nature Preserve from Mistralton City.
- Used my Super Rod to fish in various locations, including the Resort Area.
- Utilized CalcyIV to check the IVs of each Magikarp I caught.
- Persisted until I finally caught a Magikarp with 15/15/15 IVs.
Trust me, if I can do it, you can too. Just be patient, keep at it, and don’t give up! Good luck, and happy fishing!
