Okay, here is my sharing about how I got Jangmo-o in Pokemon Sword.
So, I’ve been playing Pokemon Sword for a while now, and I was really looking to beef up my team. I already had a solid crew – Rillaboom, my starter, was a beast, Drednaw was holding it down in the water department, Vulpix was my go-to fire type, and Boltund was zipping around taking names.

But I felt like I needed something else, something… different. That’s when I remembered about Jangmo-o, this cool little dragon-type Pokemon. I did a little digging, looked up some Pokedex entries online, and got hyped. It evolves into Hakamo-o at level 35 and finally into Kommo-o, which is supposed to be a total powerhouse. The entries online mentioned that Jangmo-o “learn to fight by smashing their head scales together”, and I thought that was pretty metal.
- First off, I had to actually find where this little guy hung out. Turns out, Jangmo-o is pretty rare and only spawns in specific locations. I spent a good chunk of time just running around these areas, hoping to get lucky.
- Once I finally encountered Jangmo-o, I knew I couldn’t just chuck any old Pokeball at it. I had to weaken it first. I started by throwing a quick ball to see if luck was on my side, but no dice.
- Then, I sent out my trusty Drednaw. I figured its water-type moves wouldn’t be super effective against a dragon, but would still do some damage. I was careful not to knock it out completely. After a few rounds of attacks, Jangmo-o’s health was low enough.
- I switched to using regular Pokeballs, tossing them one after another. It took a few tries, but finally, that sweet, sweet animation played, and Jangmo-o was mine!
The Hunt Begins
Catching That Dragon
Right now, I’m still training my Jangmo-o up. It’s a bit of a grind to get it to level 35 to evolve into Hakamo-o, but I’m excited to see how it performs in battles. I’ve heard that the evolutions are really strong, with the Pokedex saying “The dueling strengthens both their skills and their spirits.” I’m really hoping it’ll be a strong member of my team. This whole process has been a blast, and it just goes to show how much fun Pokemon Sword can be when you’re on the hunt for a specific Pokemon. It’s not just about catching them all, but also about the journey of finding and training your favorites. And you know what, after all the effort I spent to find it, I think this little Jangmo-o is pretty cool. I can’t wait to see what kind of battles we’ll get into together.
If any of you guys are also trying to catch Jangmo-o, let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear about your experiences. Maybe we can even trade tips or battle sometime. Happy hunting!
