Okay, so I’ve been messing around with NBA 2K24, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Klay Thompson’s rating.
First off, I jumped into the game and checked out the rosters. Found Klay on the Golden State Warriors, obviously. His overall rating was an 85, which, you know, seemed a bit low considering it’s Klay Thompson, right? I mean, this dude is a legend, even though the season hasn’t started the best for him or the Warriors.

I decided to play a few games as the Warriors, just to get a feel for how Klay handled in-game. I focused on getting him the ball, running some plays for him, you know, the usual stuff you do with a shooter like Klay.
- Shooting: His shot felt pretty good, although it didn’t seem like he was just draining everything like he can in real life. I did manage to hit a few clutch threes with him, which felt satisfying.
- Defense: Playing defense with Klay was okay. He wasn’t a lockdown defender or anything, but he held his own.
- Overall: Playing with Klay in 2K24, I can kinda see why people are debating his rating. He’s still a solid player in the game, definitely useful, but maybe not as dominant as some fans expect him to be.
After playing, I did a little digging online. Saw some people saying Nikola Jokic and A’ja Wilson are rated 98, which makes sense, they’re beasts. And apparently, Cam Thomas got a big boost, which is cool.
Honestly, it felt like the rating should be a bit higher. Yeah, I went through those online discussions and stuff about ratings, and I guess it’s always going to be a hot topic.
In the end, I think Klay’s 85 rating in NBA 2K24 is decent, but I understand why some folks might think it’s a bit low. He’s still a great shooter and a valuable player in the game, even if he’s not as overpowered as some other players. But hey, that’s just my two cents after playing a few games and seeing what others are saying.
