So, I’ve been playing a ton of Animal Crossing: New Horizons lately. You know, that game where you make your own little island paradise? Well, I got it into my head that I wanted to get all the art pieces for my museum. Blathers, that owl, he really got me hooked on collecting stuff.
At first, I just waited to see what Redd, that foxy art dealer, would show up with. You know he has that boat that he docks on your secret beach. But man, that guy is a pain. He only shows up like once every two weeks or something. And half the time, he’s selling fakes! I spent, like, a whole week trying to figure out the difference between the real and fake “scenic painting”. It was driving me nuts!

So I started getting all strategic about it. I found out there are 43 pieces of art in total! And there are paintings and there are sculptures. It is a lot of work! I made a list of all the art I was missing and kept it on my phone. Every time Redd showed up, I would compare his art to the list. I learned all the tricks to spot the fakes. Like, did you know that with the “scary painting”, the real one has the guy smiling, but the fake one has him frowning? Crazy, right?
I also started visiting my friends’ islands whenever they told me Redd was there. That way, I got to see way more art than just waiting for him to come to my island. We all helped each other out, checking for fakes and stuff. It was pretty fun, actually.
And here’s a tip I discovered on my own. You know that you can time travel in this game. I was reading in some guides online that if you time travel after buying something, it will show up in the mail immediately. I tried this with Redd too. It worked but I had to play around with the time and day that he showed up to make sure he would come back again. You can do this an infinite number of times and buy as much art from him as you want. I tried it out a few times and bought multiple real scenic paintings and even gave some to my friends.
Finally, after weeks and weeks of playing and collecting, I got it. The last piece of the puzzle. It was a real “scenic painting”! I ran to the museum so fast, I think I tripped over a weed on the way. Donating it to Blathers felt amazing. He gave his whole speech about how much he appreciated it, and I gotta say, I felt pretty proud of myself.
So yeah, that’s how I managed to get all the art in Animal Crossing. It took some time and effort, but it was totally worth it. Now my museum looks awesome, and I can finally focus on other stuff, like catching all the bugs or trying to find the recipe for the golden toilet. It is such a grind but it is so much fun! I’ve had a blast with this game so far. What is your favorite part of Animal Crossing?
