Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Dialga in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, trying to figure out the best way to use this beast. It’s been a bit of a journey, let me tell you. I started off just throwing Dialga into battles without much thought, you know, just relying on its raw power.
I quickly realized that if I wanted to get serious, I needed a proper strategy. So, I started digging around for some info on Dialga’s best movesets. Found a few guides and stuff online, but nothing beats good old trial and error, right?

First thing I experimented with was Dialga’s Nature. Most folks seemed to agree that Modest was the way to go, since it boosts Special Attack. Makes sense, Dialga’s a special attacker, after all. I bred a bunch of Dialgas until I got one with a Modest nature and decent IVs, felt like it took forever, but it was worth it.
- Next up was EV training. I focused on maxing out Special Attack, because, well, duh. Then I put the rest into HP to give Dialga some extra bulk. It can take a few hits now.
EV Training
- Draco Meteor: I tried a bunch of different moves. Draco Meteor is a must-have. Hits like a truck, seriously. Even took down a Groudon in a couple of hits once.
- Flash Cannon: This is my go-to STAB move. Good damage.
- Aura Sphere: Great coverage. Deals with some Steel types.
- Protect: Protect is always good, especially in doubles.
Moveset
I’ve had some good success with this setup. It’s not perfect, and I’m still tweaking it here and there. Sometimes I swap out Aura Sphere for Thunderbolt, depending on what I’m facing. It’s all about adapting, you know? Pokemon battles are like a dance, you gotta move with the rhythm. It took me lots of time to practice, and I am still on the way to improve it.
Anyway, that’s my Dialga story so far. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m looking forward to more battles with my trusty steel dragon.
