Alright, so I’ve been spending a bunch of time trying to figure out the best movesets for my Pokémon in Pokémon Go. It’s been quite the journey, let me tell you.
First off, I started by just playing the game, catching Pokémon, and not really thinking too much about their moves. I mean, who has time for that, right? But then I started getting into battles, and oh boy, did I get my butt kicked a few times. That’s when I realized I needed to up my game.

I started digging around, looking for info on what moves were the best. Found some stuff online that gave me a general idea. It mentioned something about attackers using their “optimal fast and charge Fighting-type moves,” which, you know, sounds fancy but didn’t really tell me much at first.
So, I decided to get my hands dirty. I started experimenting with different Pokémon and their moves. I would take notes on which moves seemed to do more damage, which ones charged up faster, and all that good stuff. It was a lot of trial and error.
My Experiments
- Experiment 1: I took my Machamp and tried out a bunch of different move combinations. I battled a ton of gym defenders and Raid Bosses, keeping track of how much damage each move did. It took forever, but I started to see a pattern.
- Experiment 2: Then I did the same with my other Fighting-type Pokémon. I compared their moves and tried to figure out which ones were the best for each Pokémon.
- Experiment 3: Oh, and I also found something online about “Primal, Shadow, and Mega Pokémon” having different optimal moves. I’m still not sure exactly how those are different, but I figured I should try to test those as well. So I did, I spent another few days just trying those out.
After all that experimenting, I finally started to get a good sense of which movesets were the most effective. I put together a little list for myself, so I wouldn’t forget. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure there’s still more to learn, but it’s a good start. I feel way more confident in battles now, and I’m actually winning some! It’s a pretty good feeling, not gonna lie.
So yeah, that’s my story about figuring out the best movesets in Pokémon Go. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. If you’re just starting out, don’t worry too much about it. Just have fun catching Pokémon. But if you want to get serious about battles, then you gotta put in the time to figure out those movesets. Trust me, it makes a big difference!
