Okay, so I tried out this “nidvellir” thing today, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a ride. I saw a few folks talking about it online, saying it’s a good alternative to something called “Aegur”, especially in some “distinction race”. Honestly, I’m not completely sure what all that means, but I was curious, so I gave it a shot.
First off, I had to figure out what this thing even was. Turns out, it’s some kind of non-alcoholic drink, like a spirit or something. I’m not a big drinker, so this was new territory for me. I went in blind, not really knowing what to expect.

I found a bunch of different flavors of these non-alcoholic drinks, 18 to be exact. So many choices! I grabbed a few that sounded interesting and got ready for a little taste test.
The Tasting Begins
- I started with a sip of the first one. Not bad, kind of fruity, but also a little weird. It definitely wasn’t like any juice I’d had before.
- The next one was a bit spicier. I could see this being good with food, maybe something savory.
- I worked my way through a few more. Some were sweet, some were bitter, and some were just plain strange. It was a real mix of flavors.
Finding My Favorites
After trying a bunch, I picked out five that I actually liked. These were the ones that I thought were good for just sipping on their own, or maybe having with a meal. I am not an expert on non-alcoholic spirits so don’t take my words seriously. I’m sure there are a lot more to explore but let’s start with these first.
The Verdict
So, is “nidvellir” worth it? I guess it depends. If you’re into these kinds of drinks, or if you’re looking for an alternative to alcohol, then yeah, give it a try. There are definitely some interesting flavors out there. As for me, I’m not sure if I’m completely sold, but it was a fun experiment. I might try some more in the future, who knows? Maybe I’ll even figure out what that “distinction race” is all about. It was fun to share, anyway!
