Alright, let’s talk about this Starfield game. I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about it, and honestly, I got caught up in the hype. It’s supposed to be this huge, new RPG from Bethesda, the folks who made those Elder Scrolls games. I usually don’t pre-order games, but I figured, why not? It’s Bethesda, right?
So, I got the Game Pass ’cause I heard Starfield would be on there. Paid for it, downloaded the game, and then… nothing. The game just wouldn’t work. It was like it was bricked or something. I was so frustrated! This was the only game I got the Game Pass for, and now I’m wondering how to get my money back.

I started digging around, trying to figure out what went wrong. Turns out, a bunch of people were saying the latest patch messed things up for Game Pass users. Some folks were talking about this thing called “SpecialK” and its Discord server. They said it could be used for HDR tone-mapping with Starfield, but I wasn’t even sure what that meant. I just wanted to play the game!
Digging Deeper
Then, I saw some news that really got me worried. Apparently, Starfield had been cracked even before it officially launched. Cracked! Can you believe it? I read somewhere that Bethesda might have even removed this thing called “Denuvo,” which is supposed to stop piracy. There was even a joke going around that 73% of players were playing a cracked version. Crazy, huh?
I kept searching, and found a suggestion to try opening the Xbox app without internet or blocking its internet access in the firewall. I mean, I guess it’s worth a shot, right? I also heard that they are starting to show cracks.
Modding Community to the Rescue?
Then I stumbled upon something that gave me a little hope. There was this mention of “75 Creations (Mods, 7.7 GB)” for use with Mod Managers, and it was thanks to someone named Wolverines. I’m not really into modding, but at this point, I was willing to try anything.
So, yeah, that’s where I’m at with Starfield. It’s been a wild ride, and not in a good way. I’m still trying to figure out if I can get the game to work or if I should just try to get a refund. It’s a shame, really. I was looking forward to exploring this new universe, but now I’m just left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I tried to open the xbox app without internet but it seems no response at all.
Finally, I tried to download the Mod and apply to the game, it worked like magic. Although it is not the original game experience, it fixed the issue.
