Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into “Days Gone” lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I mean, hordes of Freakers chasing you down, resources scarcer than toilet paper in 2020, and a storyline that’s got more twists than a bag of pretzels. But hey, who doesn’t love a good challenge, right?
Now, I’m not one to usually mess around with cheats, but I figured, why not see what’s out there? It’s not like I’m trying to break the game, just, you know, enhance the experience a little. So, I started poking around the internet, just casually browsing, you know how it is. You start with one search, and next thing you know, you’re down a rabbit hole of forums and websites, each promising the key to becoming a Freaker-slaying god.

First Attempts
Initially, I found a few basic tips that were more like common sense. Like, “Hey, maybe use stealth instead of running in guns blazing?” or “Crafting is your friend, dummy!” Stuff I already knew. But then I stumbled upon some actual cheat codes, like the ones that promise unlimited health or infinite ammo.
- Unlimited Health: Sounded great, right? But, from what I gathered, it wasn’t as simple as typing in a code. It involved downloading something called a “Table” from a website, then starting the game, running some program called “CE”, and attaching it to the game’s process. Sounded a bit complicated. I’m no tech wizard, I just wanted to smash some Freakers.
- Unlock All Weapons: This one was a bit more straightforward. Apparently, if you messed around with the game files a bit, you could unlock all the weapons right from the start. I found a video about this one too, but it was removed for being a “harmful or dangerous act”, so I decided to give that one a miss.
- Improved Skills: Similar to the weapons, there were hints about boosting Deacon’s skills beyond their normal limits. Again, it seemed to involve tweaking game files, which I wasn’t too comfortable with.
The Easy Way Out?
Honestly, messing with the game files felt like too much work. Plus, I didn’t want to accidentally turn my game into a buggy mess. So, I kept digging. Eventually, I found out that “Days Gone” actually has an easy difficulty option. Who knew? I mean, I had just started on Normal, thinking that was the baseline.
Switching to Easy mode made a noticeable difference. Resources were a bit more plentiful, Freakers went down easier, and I could focus more on the story without constantly worrying about getting my face eaten. Plus, the game has these HUD cues that tell you if you’re making noise or if you’ve been spotted. It’s like the game is holding your hand, which, at this point, I didn’t mind.
Conclusion
So, after all that searching, the best “cheat” I found was simply playing on Easy mode. It might not be as glamorous as having infinite ammo or being invincible, but it made the game more enjoyable for me. I could still experience the thrill of the Freaker hordes, but without the constant frustration. Maybe I’ll try the harder difficulties later, once I’ve honed my skills a bit more. For now, though, I’m happy being a slightly overpowered Deacon, cruising through the post-apocalyptic world on my trusty bike. You just need to find the right way to have fun and that’s what I did in this case.
It has made my days, gone. I’ll see myself out.
