Okay, let me tell you about my little adventure with MLB The Show 23’s roster update today.
So, I’ve been glued to MLB The Show 23 lately. I mean, who hasn’t, right? The game is just so darn good. And I heard they released a new roster update today, so, obviously, I had to check it out.
First thing I did was fire up my console and get the game going. I love how it feels like you’re really stepping onto the diamond. Anyway, I navigated to the roster update section, which was pretty easy to find, by the way. The menu is really user-friendly, so that’s a plus.
Once I got the update downloaded, which, thankfully, didn’t take forever, I started poking around. I was curious to see what kind of changes they made. I saw that some players got moved to different positions. Like, Evan Phillips is now an RP for the Dodgers, which is interesting. And Jose Alvarado is the new CP for the Phillies. They also moved Craig Kimbrel to RP for the Phillies. Kind of a big shake-up there for the Phillies, huh?
- Blake Treinen is now CP for the Dodgers.
- Danny Coulombe is now CP for the Orioles.
- Matt McLain is now SS for the Reds.
Then there were a few other changes that caught my eye. It looks like Tyler Wells is now an SP for the Orioles, and they made Craig Kimbrel their CP. And Yennier Cano is an RP for the Orioles now. On the Red Sox side, Jarren Duran is their new RF. That’s gonna be fun to *, and get this, Liam Hendriks is now an RP for the Red Sox. I guess they’re really mixing things up this season.
Honestly, I spent a good chunk of my day just messing around with the new rosters. Setting up some exhibition games, trying out different lineups. It’s like being a kid in a candy store, you know? I even started a new franchise mode with the updated rosters. I’m thinking of taking the Orioles all the way this year. We’ll see how that goes.
The game modes are just as fun as ever. I know they haven’t really changed much, but why fix what ain’t broken, right? Hitting, pitching, fielding, it all feels so smooth and realistic. They really nailed it with this game. And Storylines, the new mode, is pretty cool. Season 1 of The Negro Leagues is featured. It’s like a history lesson and a baseball game all rolled into one.
I gotta say, if you’re a baseball fan, you need to check out MLB The Show 23. Especially now with the new roster update. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving. I’ve already sunk so many hours into it, and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. Also, I bought 5K Stubs.
