Alright, so I’ve been digging into Cresselia in Pokemon Go lately, trying to figure out the best moveset for this beast. It’s been a bit of a journey, let me tell you.
First off, I caught a bunch of Cresselia during raids. I was super pumped when this beauty finally popped up in the raid rotation. I mean, it’s not every day you get a chance to snag a legendary like this one.

After I got my hands on a few, I started experimenting. I spent a good chunk of time, and a lot of Stardust, trying out different combinations. Powering them up, teaching them new moves, the whole nine yards.
Initially, I was all about that Psycho Cut and Moonblast combo. It felt pretty solid, you know? Fast energy generation with Psycho Cut, and then BAM! Moonblast for that heavy damage.
But then, I started battling with them. A lot. In raids, in the GO Battle League, against friends, you name it. I was keeping track, jotting down notes, trying to figure out what was working and what wasn’t. It felt like a real grind, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
My Testing Setup
- Used a bunch of different Cresselias with varying IVs.
- Tested against different raid bosses and common gym defenders.
- Did a ton of battles in the GO Battle League, mainly in the Ultra League, cause that’s where Cresselia shines.
Then I thought, “Maybe Confusion is the way to go?” It hits harder, but it’s slower. So, I slapped that on a few of my Cresselias and gave it a whirl. And, you know what? It wasn’t half bad! It felt a bit clunkier, but that extra damage was noticeable sometimes.
As for the second charge move, I also messed around with Future Sight. It packs a serious punch, but it takes forever to charge up. I mean, you gotta be really strategic with it, cause it will leave you vulnerable.
After all that trial and error, I’ve come to a conclusion, at least for now. For me, I’m sticking with Psycho Cut and Moonblast. It just feels the most consistent overall. Confusion is viable, totally, but I prefer the faster energy gain.
And Future Sight? It’s a fun nuke, but Moonblast‘s lower energy cost and chance to debuff the opponent’s attack just makes it more useful in most situations. It offers more tactical advantage, you know?
So yeah, that’s my Cresselia moveset journey. It’s been a wild ride, but I think I’ve finally cracked the code, at least for my playstyle. Who knows, maybe I’ll change my mind again in the future, but for now, I’m feeling pretty good about Psycho Cut and Moonblast. You might wanna give it a try, too, and see how it works for you. Let’s see if you can be a real trainer!
