Okay, so, I’ve been grinding away at MLB The Show 24, and I finally figured out this whole “getting traded” thing. It’s not as straightforward as you might think, so I thought I’d share my experience.
Start Your Career
First off, I started a new “Road to the Show” career. You know, the usual, created my player, picked my position (shortstop, of course), and got drafted by some random team. I was sent down to Double-A. Fine, whatever, time to prove myself.
Simulate Some Games
Now, here’s a trick I learned. I simulated a bunch of games. Yeah, I know, it sounds counterintuitive, but hear me out. I went through the calendar, simming like a month or so. This way, my player got a decent amount of playtime without me having to grind every single game.
Check Your Progress
After a while, I checked my player’s progress. My stats were looking pretty good. I was hitting well, fielding decently, you know, the whole nine yards. This is important because teams want players who can actually, you know, play.
Demand That Trade
This is where it gets interesting. I went to the “My Ballplayer” screen, then to “Requests”. There it was, the golden ticket: “Request Trade”. I hit that button so fast. Now, the waiting game begins.
Keep Playing, Or Simulating
After requesting the trade, I kept playing. Or, to be honest, I simulated some more games. I just wanted to see if anything would happen. It took a few in-game weeks, but then, bam! I got a message saying I was traded to a new team.
Success!
And that’s it! I was on a new team. It wasn’t the team I necessarily wanted, but hey, it was a change of scenery. From there, you can keep playing, improve your stats, and maybe even request another trade down the line if you’re not happy.
