Alright, so, I’ve been grinding away at this quest in Elder Scrolls Online called “Plucking the Crow.” Man, it’s been a bit of a doozy, but I finally cracked it. Figured I’d share my experience, might help some of you out there.
So, the deal is, you gotta grab this daily quest. Every day, you’re tasked with snagging 50 Cursed Feathers. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, these feathers are hiding inside these things called Plunder Skulls.

Getting those Skulls
- Beat up Bosses: This is where it gets a little rough. You gotta go around and take down boss monsters. Any boss will do. Every time you beat one, you get a Plunder Skull.
I spent a good chunk of time just roaming around, hunting down these bosses. It gets pretty repetitive, you know, just running around, smashing things to get these containers. It isn’t easy work, but I find it enjoyable.
The Feathers
- Crack Open the Skulls: Once you have the Plunder Skulls, crack ’em open, and hopefully, you’ll find some Cursed Feathers inside. It’s a bit of a gamble, sometimes you get a bunch, sometimes just a few.
- 50 Feathers: You’re gonna need a full stack of 50. Keep grinding those bosses and opening skulls until you hit the magic number.
I was getting pretty frustrated at one point. I had like 48 feathers and just couldn’t get those last two. I was running all over the place, fighting every boss I could find. Finally, after what felt like hours, I got that last skull and bam, two feathers. Finally! I helped six different people in the same process.
Turning in the Feathers
- Make an Effigy: After you’ve got all 50, you can turn them into this effigy thing. That’s the whole point of the quest.
The reward, to be honest, wasn’t really worth all the hassle. You only get three coffers if you actually have the quest. This part is very disappointing. But hey, I finished it. Felt good to finally get that checked off my list. It’s more about the accomplishment, you know? And helping out my buddies was cool too, even if the payout was kind of lame.
Anyway, that’s my story of “Plucking the Crow.” Hopefully, this helps someone else, who just started this game, with the quest. It’s a grind, but you’ll get there. Just keep at it!
