Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into Ghostwire: Tokyo lately, and let me tell you, finding all those Tanuki is a real challenge! But hey, I’m not one to back down from a challenge, so I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. I figured I’d share my experience and hopefully help some of you guys out.
First off, I started just wandering around Shibuya, soaking in the atmosphere and, you know, trying not to get completely freaked out by all the creepy Visitors. I stumbled upon a few Tanuki just by chance, disguised as random objects. The first one I found was pretending to be a vending machine, of all things! It was a total “aha!” moment when I realized what I was looking at.

After that, I realized I needed a more systematic approach. So, I started really paying attention to my surroundings. I was using KK’s spectral vision like crazy, scanning every nook and cranny. And you know what? It started paying off. I found a Tanuki hiding as a traffic cone, another one chilling as a stack of newspapers. It’s wild how they blend in.
I started marking down on a picture of the map that I found in google which locations I have already swept, and it did help a lot. Then I went through every area of the map square by square, making sure I did not miss anything.
- Stay Alert: Those Tanuki are sneaky. They can be anything, anywhere.
- Use Spectral Vision: Seriously, this is your best friend when hunting Tanuki. Spam that button!
- Mark Your Map: If you could find a map online just print it out and start marking it.
- Think Outside the Box: Sometimes you gotta look up, down, all around. They’re good at hiding.
It took a while, a lot of patience, and probably more hours than I’d like to admit, but I finally tracked down all the Tanuki in each area! It was a serious grind, but the feeling of accomplishment when I found that last one? Totally worth it. Plus, the rewards for finding them are pretty sweet, so that’s a bonus.
So yeah, that’s my Tanuki hunting adventure in a nutshell. Hope this helps some of you guys out there. Good luck, and happy hunting!
