Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with Hydreigon in Pokemon Go. This three-headed dragon is a beast, but you gotta know how to use it right. I spent the whole afternoon trying different movesets, and let me tell you, it was a journey.
First off, I started with the basics. I caught a bunch of Deino during that event a while back, so I had plenty of candies to evolve one into Hydreigon. I evolved my best one, a three-star with pretty decent stats. My initial thought was to go for full-on damage, so I went with Bite and Dragon Pulse. I figured the Dark and Dragon combo would be killer.

I took it out for a spin, battling some gyms and doing a few raids. It was okay, nothing special. Bite was fast, but it didn’t feel like I was hitting hard enough. Dragon Pulse, while strong, took forever to charge up. I ended up losing a couple of raids I probably should’ve won.
- I went back to the drawing board and looked at some online guides. People were hyping up Dragon Breath as a fast move. I was like,”Okay, let’s give it a shot.” I used a Fast TM and swapped out Bite.
- Next up was the charged move. I saw a lot of people recommending Brutal Swing. It’s a Dark-type move, and apparently, it charges up pretty fast. Sounded good to me! Another Charged TM, and I replaced Dragon Pulse.
Round Two: Changing Things Up
Alright, time for round two. I jumped into a raid against a Psychic-type. Let me just say, this new moveset was a GAME CHANGER. Dragon Breath was spitting out damage like crazy. And Brutal Swing? Man, that thing hit like a truck! I was able to fire off two or three of them during the raid. We crushed it, and I even got top damage. I felt like a Pokemon master, not gonna lie.
I played around with this combo for a few more hours, trying it out in different scenarios. Gym battles? Easy. Raids? No problem. I even tried it in PvP, and it held its own pretty well. I’m not a huge PvP person, but it was fun to experiment.
So, after a full day of Pokemon Go, I think I finally cracked the code for Hydreigon. Dragon Breath and Brutal Swing are the way to go. It’s all about that fast, consistent damage. If you’ve got a Hydreigon gathering dust in your storage, give this moveset a try. You won’t regret it. It’s seriously so much fun, especially when you see those big numbers pop up on the screen. Now I’m excited to try different moves on my other Pokemon!
