Today I worked on converting Fahrenheit to Celsius, and I’m gonna tell you how I did it. I’m not really a tech guy, but it was a fun little project.
So, I wanted to convert 87 degrees Fahrenheit to Celsius. First, I needed the formula, right? It’s a basic one, nothing too complicated. I found it somewhere on the net.

The formula is like this: you take the Fahrenheit temperature, subtract 32 from it, then multiply that result by 5, and finally, divide all of that by 9. Pretty straightforward, yeah?
Here’s how I did it step by step:
- First, I took 87 (that’s the Fahrenheit temperature) and subtracted 32. I got 55, easy peasy.
- Next, I multiplied 55 by 5. Got 275. Still with me?
- Finally, I divided 275 by 9. The result is about 30.56.
And there you have it, 87 degrees Fahrenheit is roughly 30.56 degrees Celsius. I even double-checked it with one of those online converters, and it matched! So, yeah, I’m feeling pretty good about figuring that out.
It’s like a little puzzle, converting temperatures. I did it with a pen and paper, felt like going back to the old school days. Also, I try to search for “how to do it on a calculator” on the internet. No biggie, but it was a nice way to spend a bit of my time.
I have to say, the whole process made me think about how we used to do these things without all the fancy tools. It was a bit of a journey back in time. I remember some of my friends were a little better at these conversions, but I was never far behind. It was fun to revisit that today.
Also, I was thinking about sharing this with my nephew. He’s just starting to learn about this stuff in school. I thought it might be a cool thing to show him how it works. Maybe we could even do a few more examples together. It could be a fun little uncle-nephew activity. I am sure he will ask “how to make it with a mobile app”.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure for today. I did a simple thing and wrote it down here. It’s not just about the conversion, but also about doing things by hand and keeping the brain a little active. Cheers!
