Alright, let’s talk about this “gun bunch offset” thing I messed around with the other day. So, I was messing around with different plays and formations, you know, just trying stuff out, seeing what works.
I started with this “Gun Bunch” formation. It’s pretty popular, I guess. You got your quarterback in the shotgun, and then you have this bunch of guys, your receivers, all huddled up on one side. The idea is it gives you a lot of options for passing the ball, lets the quarterback find the open guy quick, or something like that.

But I wanted to tweak it a bit, so I tried this “offset” version. I moved my running back a little, positioned him off to the side a bit, rather than right behind the quarterback. Just to see what would happen. I also moved around my wide receivers a little and put them in a bunch formation.
Finding the Right Play
Now, the playbook I was using was the Eagles one. I figured, hey, they’re a good team, might as well see what they do. Mostly, I stuck to this “Gun Wing Slot Offset” thing. It seemed to have a good mix of pass plays and run plays. I was thinking maybe it would confuse the defense and make it harder to predict what I was gonna do.
- I ran a few passing plays, just to see how the receivers would run their routes.
- I tested out a run play, too, to see if the offset running back made any difference.
- Honestly, it was a lot of trial and error. I kept adjusting things, moving guys around, trying different plays.
I was just experimenting, trying to see if I could create some mismatches or something. You know, get a receiver open against a slower defender, maybe open up a hole for the running back. It was kinda like putting together a puzzle, trying to find the right pieces that fit.
I played a bunch of games using this formation and different plays to see what I could come up with. Some stuff worked, some stuff didn’t. It was a learning process, that’s for sure. I can’t say I’ve mastered it or anything, but it was fun messing around and seeing what I could do. And hey, maybe I stumbled on something that might actually work in a real game. Who knows?
