Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this new map in Valorant, Lotus. It’s a real doozy, with those rotating doors and that destructible wall. Feels like you gotta be thinking three steps ahead all the time. I jumped in, eager to see what all the fuss was about, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride from the get-go.
First off, I tried out a bunch of different agents, just to see who felt right on this map. I mean, you gotta experiment, right? I started with some of my usual go-tos, but quickly realized that Lotus has its own special needs. It is not like playing at Ascent or other maps.

My Agent Experiments
-
Jett: Initially, I thought Jett’s mobility would be killer here. And it was, don’t get me wrong. I was dashing all over the place, getting some nice early picks. But man, when things got tight, I felt a little too exposed. Those narrow corridors and rotating doors got me messed up more times than I’d like to admit. She is not good for this map.
-
Phoenix: Then I switched to Phoenix, thinking his flashes and wall could create some nice opportunities. I did manage to blind a few enemies, which was satisfying, but on defense, his toolkit felt a bit limited. I got caught out a few times, not being able to get back to my team quickly enough. His ult is not so helpful in this map.
-
Omen: Omen was where things started to get interesting. Being able to teleport across those rotating doors or behind the destructible wall was a game-changer. I could reposition quickly, flank the enemy, and generally be a nuisance. His smokes were also super helpful for blocking off chokepoints and making it harder for the other team to push. I think I found a winner!
-
Killjoy: I gave Killjoy a shot, too. Her turrets were decent for locking down a site, especially on defense. But I found that her Nanoswarms didn’t quite have the same impact as on other maps. The layout of Lotus is just so open that it’s tough to get full value from them. Her ult is not so useful here, also.
-
Cypher: Last but not least, I tried Cypher. Now, his Cyber Cages were handy for slowing down pushes and creating temporary cover. And his Spycam? Let’s just say I got some sweet intel on enemy positions. But still, I felt like I wasn’t making as big of an impact as I could have been. His ult is ok, but not enough.
After all that trial and error, I gotta say, Omen is my top pick for Lotus. He just feels like he was built for this map. That ability to teleport and play mind games with the enemy is huge. His smokes are a lifesaver, too. But really, it’s about picking an agent that you’re comfortable with and that fits your playstyle. So, get out there, try some different agents on Lotus, and see who works best for you!
I’m gonna keep grinding on Lotus, trying to master those rotating doors and that wall. It’s a tough map, but that’s what makes it so fun. Who knows, maybe I’ll even find some new strats along the way. Stay tuned!
