Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with these Magic: The Gathering cards, specifically the ones with “Amass” on them. It’s been a trip, let me tell you.
I started out just trying to figure out what this “Amass” thing even meant. Turns out, it’s about building up an army token. If you don’t have one, you make one. If you do, you just add counters to it. Simple enough, right?

Then, I began to look for cards with “Amass” on them. Turns out there are a bunch of them, 57 to be precise! I looked through all the cards I had to see which ones were the best.
The first card I really got into was this Gleaming Overseer. Man, this card is a beast! Every time you play it, you get to amass 1. It’s like getting a free soldier every time it shows up. I started building my deck around this card, trying to get as many of them as I could.
I also messed with a card that lets you pull an instant or sorcery card from your graveyard and put it on top of your library, and then it says “Amass Orcs 2”. That was pretty wild. Suddenly, I’m not just getting a creature, I’m getting a beefy Orc creature. I tried a few different strategies with this one, seeing if I could chain a bunch of these together to get a massive army super fast.
- Gleaming Overseer – This one is for real, it was like getting a bonus every time.
- Some card that lets you Amass Orcs 2. It really beefs up your army.
Cards I messed with:
I spent hours just shuffling these cards, trying different combos, seeing what worked and what didn’t. Some games I’d get stomped, others I’d be the one doing the stomping. It was a real rollercoaster. But through it all, I feel like I really got a handle on this whole “Amass” thing. I even found some old posts talking about other cards like “Bitterblossom” and comparing them to “Invasion”. Seems like control decks are a whole other can of worms.
In the end, I don’t know if I’d say I’m a pro or anything, but I definitely had a blast. And hey, maybe I even learned a thing or two along the way. Now I have a deck that can really bring on the pain. Building up an army is not as easy as it sounds but with the right cards, you can really make it happen.
Next up, I think I’m gonna dive into some other keyword abilities. Maybe something with flying creatures, or maybe something totally different. Who knows, the possibilities are endless!
