Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this game called HoloCure, and let me tell you, figuring out the items is a whole thing. I spent a good chunk of my weekend just trying to get a handle on what’s what, so I thought I’d share my notes. Maybe it’ll save someone else the headache, haha.
First off, I started by just playing a bunch of runs. No real strategy, just grabbing whatever items looked cool and seeing what happened. It was a mess, honestly. I kept dying, and I had no idea why some runs felt so much better than others. It was pretty clear that just picking random stuff wasn’t going to cut it.

So, I hit up the HoloCure Wiki. That place is packed with info. I started reading up on all the different items, their effects, and how they unlock. I’ve gotta say, it was a bit overwhelming at first. There are so many of them! I spent hours going through the pages, making notes on what seemed strong or useful.
After I had a better idea of the items, I started focusing on specific ones in my runs. For example, I noticed that the Stolen Piggy Bank seemed pretty good for getting more coins, and the Super Chatto Time was mentioned a lot for boosting various aspects. And Halu is mentioned a lot, too.
I tried a few runs where I would force myself to pick those items if they showed up. And yeah, they definitely made a difference! My runs started lasting longer, and I was able to get further in the game. Still, I knew there was more to it than just grabbing those specific items every time.
I started experimenting with different item combinations. I figured out that getting a defense or healing item early on could really help with survivability, and then you need some sort of DPS boosting item to actually kill stuff. I also got it in my head that Blacksmith’s Gear would be amazing if I could just find it early enough.
It became this whole trial-and-error process. I’d have a run where I thought I had a great build going, only to get completely wrecked later on. Then I’d try something different the next time, tweaking my strategy based on what worked and what didn’t. It took a while, but it was really satisfying when it started to click.
My Realization
I came to realize that this is really subjective. But, there are some general ideas about how to think about the items. Like, some items are just plain better than others in most situations. I’m not going to get into a whole tier list here, but it’s something like, some items are almost always good, some are good in specific situations, and some are just… not that great.
So, yeah, that’s where I’m at with HoloCure items right now. I’m still learning and experimenting, but I feel like I finally have a decent grasp on how to approach them. This game is way deeper than it looks on the surface, and the item system is a huge part of that. If you’re just starting out, I hope my experience can give you some ideas on how to approach the game.
