Alright, folks, let’s talk about my recent dive into the world of Madden NFL 23. I’ve been a Madden fan for years, but I hadn’t picked up a new copy since Madden 19. So, I saw Madden 23 was on sale and figured, why not? Let’s see what’s new.
Getting Started
First off, I had to decide where to buy it. I looked at a bunch of different stores online, comparing prices and checking out deals. It was a bit of a hunt, you know how it is, everyone’s got a different price. After a bit of searching, I managed to find a pretty good deal on a used copy for my PS4. Score!

Diving In
Once I got the game, I popped it in and started playing. I noticed right away the graphics are a bit better than what I remembered from Madden 19. The players look a bit more realistic, and the stadiums have a bit more detail. It’s not a huge leap, but it’s noticeable.
Gameplay
Now, the gameplay is where I really started to see some changes. They’ve added some new mechanics, like different types of tackles and this momentum thing. It makes the game feel a little more… I don’t know, weighty? Like the players have more heft to them. It took a bit of getting used to, but I started to appreciate the changes.
I spent a lot of time just messing around in exhibition games, trying out different teams and players. I also tried my hand at the online multiplayer. Man, some of those players are good! It was tough, but also a lot of fun. You can definitely tell there’s a learning curve.
- Graphics: A little bit better, more realistic player models.
- Gameplay: New tackle types, momentum system – feels more realistic.
- Multiplayer: Tough but fun, lots of skilled players online.
Overall
So, after a few weeks of playing, I’d say Madden 23 is a solid game. It’s not a massive overhaul from previous versions, but the updates they’ve made are pretty good. I’m still exploring all the different modes and features. There’s a lot to dig into, and I’m having a good time with it. If you’re a Madden fan and you see it on sale, I’d say it’s worth picking up. Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve with the new gameplay mechanics. Happy gaming, everyone!
