Okay, so, I’ve been grinding on MLB The Show 24’s Road to the Show mode lately, and let me tell you, getting called up to the majors felt like winning the lottery. I’m here to share my experience and how it all happened.
Starting Out
I created my player, a power-hitting first baseman, and started in the minors. It felt like an eternity down there, playing in those small stadiums. But I kept my head down and focused on improving my player.

At first, I was just trying to get the hang of things. Swing timing, making good contact, you know, the basic stuff. I didn’t have any perks at this point. I just followed along with the games as they came. As I gained levels, I’ll open packs that allow me to change that.
The Grind
The key was just playing games and performing well. Every hit, every good play in the field, it all contributed to my player’s attributes. I was especially focused on hitting. I mean, as a first baseman, that’s kind of my job, right? I noticed that my hitting attributes were going up steadily. I was careful to pay attention to my discipline at the plate, too. Striking out is a no-no. And just like that, my base ratings went up to the maximum of 50.
- Focus on hitting: Get those hits in, drive in runs, and avoid striking out.
- Fielding matters: Even though I’m a first baseman, making those routine plays helps.
- Be patient: It takes time, but gradually, you’ll see your player getting better.
Moving Up
I started seeing my player’s overall rating climb. I went from like a 60-something to the 70s, and then I started getting close to the big league starter’s rating. It felt like it took forever, but I knew I was making progress.
Then it happened. I surpassed the major league starter’s rating. I remember the moment when I was called into the manager’s office. The suspense was killing me! He told me I was getting called up. I couldn’t believe it. Finally, all that hard work paid off. And I heard it is slightly easier for starting pitchers.
The Show
My first game in the majors was surreal. Playing in a packed stadium, with all the lights and the crowd, it was a dream come true. And you know what? I even hit a home run in my first game! It was the perfect start to my major league career.
So yeah, that’s my story. Getting called up in MLB The Show 24 took a lot of patience and grinding, but it was totally worth it. If I can do it, you can too. Just keep playing, keep improving, and enjoy the ride.
